The Music Ministry at St. Theresa Parish consists of an Adult choir, Contemporary ensemble, holiday children's choir, guests instrumentalists. All of our music, though, shares the same purpose - to lift our voices and give glory to God. "My lips will shout for joy, when I sing praises to you; my soul also, which you have redeemed." [Psalm 71] The Adult Liturgical Choir is a group comprised of 15 voices, ranging from professionally trained singers to amateur singers with varying musical backgrounds.
The choir serves at the 10am Mass weekly from September-June, holidays, holy days, and other special occasions. The choir's repertoire reaches beyond standard hymns and spirituals, and incorporates rich traditions of classical works and contemporary compositions. The Adult Choir rehearses Thursdays 7:00-8:30pm. The Holiday Children’s Choir serves at Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday celebrations. Singing both traditional and contemporary songs, this energetic choir is open to all children, grades K-6. The children learn songs and fundamentals of choral technique in a fun and engaging atmosphere.
The Contemporary Ensemble serves at the 5:30 Sunday evening Masses. Anyone with proficiency on an instrument or voice is welcome to join. The Contemporary Ensemble rehearses prior to Mass. (Any instrument - guitars, horns, reeds, strings, or percussion - is welcome!)
